Lets come together for Daphne Miss

Hello Dear RSK Alumni's,

When we were tiny toddlers who kept crying as our parents left us in school, there was one of our angels - Daphne Miss (retired RSK Primary School teacher) who held our hands, made us feel safe and taught us the ABCD in our lives. She taught us to read, she held our hands to write and she played an inevitable role in building our fundamentals - be it our academics or character. Today, she is fighting multiple medical conditions with all her might and it is time for us that we stand with her through her toughest times.

You might have seen pictures of her in FB and she has been undergoing medical treatment at Velan Specialty Centre, Trichy. We understand that her family is in a dire financial condition. Here is an update from Dr Jagaram, who spoke with the doctor treating her.

“Just spoke to the doctor of velan hospital. Apparently Daphne miss family is known to him for many decades. They have given all possible concessions. Her sugars were totally out of control (in excess of 700). She had ulcers in both feet. Has been treated on and off for 6 months. Apparently her husband also became bad, suffered multiple complications and died last month. In the meantime she had a renal failure, had to be put under dialysis, suffered a respiratory failure, was on ventilator for 10 days. Ultimately with the infection in her left leg getting worse, they had to perform a below knee amputation. Her infection, sugar levels, wound in the other leg are getting better after that."

Family is in dire financial straits. The hospital has been kind enough not to insist on payment and is allowing them to pay as and when they can. We would request a coordinated effort from the alumni side to help her in whatever way possible.
