Let's Help Jeremy Mares

Donation protected
The generosity shown by Jeremy’s friends and coworkers has been beyond my expectations. The initial goal was met within five hours and support continues to grow. As I write this the campaign is about twelve hours old and we have almost tripled the goal. I have decided that the best way to get the support to Jeremy’s family as quickly as possible is to turn control over this site directly to his family (Nicole Smith, his sister, is now maintaining this page). Barring any unforeseen events, I intend to do so tomorrow. Thanks to Dylan Addington and Dave Poulin for assistance in starting this endeavor.

I wish to encourage those that have visited this site and those that will do so in the future to continue to offer your support to Jeremy’s family. The challenge they face is not one that will pass quickly. I am sure they will appreciate your assistance and support in the upcoming months, financial when you are able and emotional always.

Thanks again for your contributions. They have exceeded my expectations when I suggested this as a possible method of supporting Jeremy’s family to a few of my colleagues.

Jeremy is a treasure to the Pueblo community. A dedicated public servant, advocate, musician, chef, and actor. He inherited his admirable traits and work ethic from his loving parents, but he also inherited a rare genetic condition which now requires him to receive a liver transplant to save his life.

While he is waiting in an ICU in Denver, his retired parents from Texas are by his side, giving him love and support, and keeping him in good spirits. It is a godsend that they are able to be with him, especially since his ICU room is so far away from his friends and community.

Denver is expensive, and the unplanned costs of room and board for his parents will quickly grow, as this will likely be a months-long trial for both Jeremy and his parents. To help Jeremy, we need to help his support team…his parents. Anything you can contribute to help cover their expenses while they support Jeremy at his bedside will go a long way to help Jeremy.
