Let's Help Heidi!

Firstly, thank you for taking a moment to open and briefly peruse this fundraiser. If nothing else, we sincerely hope that you could find it in your heart to share this link with your own friends and family, as well as take a moment for a brief prayer, and keep the love and hope going.
Now, to the crux of the situation. As many of you are aware, our beloved Heidi has been having a rather rough summer in terms of her health. First with the surgery on one foot, then the kidney failure which the doctors still don't know the cause of, but seems to go back to a combo of certain medications she was prescribed. Then, just as she was gingerly attempting a return to work, the fall that broke her leg.
Now, just as she believed she was turning the corner, about to get the cast off, and regain full strength in both legs, a checkup revealed that 2 out of 3 screws securing the metal plates that are holding her broken leg bone together have snapped, and as such she is scheduled to go under the knife again on September 11 where they intend to add "alot more hardware, and perform a partial fuse." It is in our hopes and prayers that this will indeed resolve the issue, as if it does not, the consequences will be quite dire. Up to "amputation of that leg below the knee."
In order to ensure proper healing of the leg, the doctors are demanding that she "stay off it for 3-4 weeks". Which is why I am creating this fundraiser for her. She recently revealed to some of her teams that this surgery is about to transpire, and as many of us hold Heidi dear in our hearts for a multitude of reasons, the question of "How can I help?" Has been asked more than once. And thank you for your care and concern. Discussing this with some friends, one of them, knowing a bit about how strained finances have become, suggested creating a GoFundMe for Heidi. After some talk and debate it was decided that why not? It can't hurt, and maybe, just maybe, it'll greatly help.
As many of you are aware, out of the last four months, Heidi has only been able to work about four weeks. As one can imagine, this has put a severe strain on finances, with things truly coming down to the wire in the last couple weeks. Some days even coming up with the cash for the $5 bonus questions, the prizes, the candy, has proved a distinct challenge. In case anyone in the trivia community is unaware, those prizes come from Heidi's own pocket, the company does not pay for them, nor do they reimburse her. Now, as some of you may be aware from your own challenges you've faced in the past, just because one can no longer work, the bills do not cease to pour in. Utilities, Insurance, Medications, Gas, Condo fees, Food, etc, etc, etc. While Heidi was laid up, she looked into various options, including Credit, doing transcription work online, and lately, now that she's partly ambulatory, in an effort to catch up a bit, she's taken to Ubering part-time, which unfortunately she'll not be able to continue post-op. As for myself, as Heidi's good friend and roommate, I've been doing what I can, working as much as possible including picking up side jobs, and I'm currently seeking a 2nd full-time job to assist in getting through the next five or six weeks without her receiving a paycheck, but in the same vein, If I begin to put in 70-80 hours a week, how can I help her get around the house, or cook for her, or keep the house clean and maintained, or pick up and bring her items she may need? It's a conundrum, but as of now we don't see another way. Savings have been drained. All I know for sure was that Heidi was there for me when I needed help, and I'm doing my best to be there for her in her hour of need.
I do briefly want to address the fact that some of you have already assisted Heidi in various ways, be it home cooked food, a lovely card, or even financially. For the assistance rendered, she, as well as I, thank you and are fully and eternally grateful. To those that have given help already, please we'd not like to ask any more of you. Your help is and has been hugely appreciated. And frankly, it's hard, very hard to admit when something gets too big for one to handle on their own. Becomes too great for one's own abilities and resources, but here we are, humbly beseeching of you that you may find it in your heart, in your soul to donate to this fundraiser in order to assist Heidi with her living expenses and medical bills over these next few weeks, and if possible, to please share this fundraiser with your own friends, loved ones, and contacts, that perhaps they may be moved to donate or share as well.
One blessing Heidi believes she has, is that nearly all of her medical bills SHOULD be covered by her insurance. HOWEVER, VERY unexpectedly, her insurance has been waffling over whether or not they will be covering the expenses for her broken leg. Heidi is of course filling out numerous forms and attempting to get this rectified, but as of this moment she is being told that she owes the hospital $20,000 for the treatment of that leg, and she's about to undergo another surgery! Frankly, this is TERRIFYING! Please keep that in mind when you think and pray over whether to make a donation to this fundraiser for our loving, cheerful, fun-loving, big-hearted friend Heidi.
