HAVE YOU "HERD" ABOUT LET’S GOAT BUFFALO?
Our herd is making a lasting impact on the Western New York community and environment, one goatscaped acre at a time! We are growing in 2020 and we need your support to secure and renovate a vintage school bus to become the latest and greatest goat-mobile around.
Let’s Goat Buffalo creates positive environmental impact via an innovative service - targeted goat grazing as a land management/plant management tool. We are creating a culture-change when it comes to traditional landscaping. No pesticides...no heavy equipment...just GOATS!! We are proud to partner with community organizations and landmarks such as Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, The Richardson Olmsted Campus, and the Western New York Land Conservancy to ensure that shared green spaces are environmentally safe for all to enjoy.
WHO WE ARE: The first professional goat-grazing business in the area, Let’s Goat Buffalo incorporates social impact and financial stability to create a self-sustaining business that leaves a lasting positive environmental impact. We are excited to expand our presence in Western New York and appreciate your help to reach this infrastructure goal!
WHAT WE NEED: We need a BUS!! (A gote-tote, if you will...) We need to double our herd size in order to meet local demand for natural landscaping. Since we are a small business with a social mission, we need your support to cover the initial purchase and upgrades to make an upcycled school bus the perfect traveling home for the goats and a herder while on landscaping jobs.
SUSTAINABLE GIVING: We believe in social enterprise: operating a self-sustaining business that does social good. Once we have the infrastructure, (more goats and a bus) our herd will support itself with paid jobs. That means your gift will keep on giving back to our environment for years to come!
OUR ANIMALS: Our herds are made up of retired milkers and baby boys born on a small, local, organic dairy farm called Alpine Made. Normally, large dairy farms terminate retired milkers and sell any baby boys for meat. Our compassionate partnership with Alpine Made allows these animals to live out their lives grazing with their own herd, while also supporting the organic practices at the farm. When our herds aren't grazing, we pay to board them back on the farm, so each business supports the other while also respecting the animals and healing the planet.
CHANGE: We know that we must collectively re-think how we interact with our world. Goatscaping is a natural solution to the serious issue of invasive plant growth, the over-use of pesticides and the decline in various pollinator species like bees and butterflies. Did you know that equipment used for landscaping often does extreme damage to ecosystems? Goats are an effective and environmentally friendly solution; they do not disturb natural habitats for bees, turtles, and other vital species.We are dedicated not only to the land-healing work we do directly, but also to educating community members about safer more natural approached to their own yards and gardens.
