Let's Filip the gap with love and support

Donation protected
I think I speak for most residents of Lisle when I say we pride ourselves on being a small but strong community. Well friends, one of our own is facing perhaps the hardest time in their lives and could use
our help –The Filip Family.

Steven Filip was recently diagnosed with Astrocytoma Stage 4 Glioblastoma – an aggressive form of brain cancer. He had surgery in September to remove the tumor and underwent intensive
chemotherapy which was found to be in ineffective. The family is awaiting a new set of treatment options to fight this aggressive disease.

Steven’s wife, Kimberly, is not working in order to care for Steven and their two daughters, one at Lisle Elementary and one at Lisle Junior High. This family is very involved in local community groups and
organizations and are generous and kind people.

Our hope is we can pull together in this family’s time of need to help ease the financial burden of everyday life so they can focus on healing, and one another. While we can’t even begin to imagine the unease they are going through, we can try to imagine the needs they now face and continue to face during this fight. Providing for a family is no small task and doing it with an ill spouse/parent just makes it all harder both mentally and physically. Let’s show the Filip’s that they are not facing this alone but have an entire community of support and love cheering them on.

All the money raised will be given to the Filip’s to help with everyday life including bills, food, essential necessities, gas, transportation /lodging to and from doctors’ visits, and any other way they feel it’s
needed.

Please consider donating any amount you can. Even if you only have $5 to spare, it still makes a difference! If you would like to show your love and support, but are not able to contribute financially at this time, consider donating your time instead. Katie and Alexis will be compiling a list of names and numbers to provide the Filip's so they can call on people to help as the need arises. Rides for their girls, shoveling the driveway, babysitting over the winter holiday. If you are willing to help in a non monetary aspect please contact Katie Lorenz or Alexis Gilbert and include your name and the best way to reach you and any ways you're willing to help!

Come on Lisle, let’s show the Filip’s what Lisle pride is all about!
