Obviously Covid-19 has hit the arts community really hard. All my income revolves around working with groups, so everything has stopped for me.
I'll be putting out some live videos on facebook, teaching how to play different percussion instruments, primarily samba however there may be some maracatu and Afro-Cuban percussion tutorials going out too.
If you learn something from these, and find yourself in a position to donate, then please do. Every little will help. I've got rent to pay, and the bills won't stop, even if my work has.
If you're in a similar boat as me however, then just watch and join in. Maybe you can buy me a bevy later, when you can afford it, or not if you can't. That's all fine.
When we get out the other side of this whole mess, how great would it be if we were all better musicians by the end of it?
