Leslie Henderson Living with Cancer Fund

Donation protected

Leslie is a very dear friend, college roommate, fellow LHAB (University of Texas Longhorn Alumni Band) member and an ovarian cancer survivor.

In April of 1998, she was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer -  pseudomyxoma peritonei.

To use Leslie's words, "I'm still hanging on. Not a bad run, if I do say so myself. Planning on being around a lot longer, God willing.  I'm not dying from cancer,  I'm living with it."

As you can tell, she has valiantly fought this battle for a very long time and is a hero to every one of us who knows her.

Here's where I'm reaching out for your help...

I spoke with Leslie recently and she said that her doctors told her there will be no more surgeries or chemo.

With that being said, her insurance will not cover all of the medication she requires - and it is quite expensive.  She is dependent upon Social Security Disability for her sole means of support as she is a single lady.  In addition, the hospital to which she goes has informed her that her insurance will no longer be accepted.  Needless to say, the added expense of medication and medical bills is beyond her financial capacity to pay.

If you have a desire to help someone who truly needs help, please make a contribution.  I know Leslie would be more than thankful for any support you can and would be able to provide, as would I.

Also, I thought some of you might like to know a little more about this rare (and often undiagnosed) form of cancer - please follow either of the links below to get more information:

From the very bottom of my heart, I thank you so very much for reading to the end, for your prayers for Leslie and for any support you can offer.

Please feel more than free to repost this/share it via  FaceBook, Twitter and/or forward this to any of your friends who may want to help, also.  This is the true beauty of technology.
