Leslie's Treatment
Donation protected
A friend and coworker of mine, Leslie, has been battling against Non-Hodgkin's Follicular Lymphoma for the past 9 years. She was diagnosed while pregnant with her youngest child, Emma.
Leslie is a hard-working single mother with two children. She’s been a teacher for the past 17 years, dedicated to her students, as well as her own children. Kama, her son, is 15 and is an amazingly accomplished cellist, straight-A student, athlete on the swim team, and is an avid soccer player. Emma is 9 and loves playing games with her family, singing, and art. Leslie’s dream is to see both of her children graduate from high school.
At her most recent oncology appointment she was told that her lymph nodes are growing rapidly and she needs to have another PET scan so they can proceed with additional chemotherapy treatment, in hopes that she can fight long enough to fulfill her dream. However, after 9 years of fighting this cancer she has used and borrowed all she can to pay for her treatments thus far.
She needs $1500 before the clinic will perform the PET scan necessary to further her treatment. Afterward, she will need more funds to continue her treatments and to try to stay ahead of the cancer. At the very least, my hope is to raise enough to get her started now before the cancer gets too far ahead. Hopefully, with the amazing generosity of all our friends and family, we can raise enough to keep her treatments going and help ease her financial burden.
