Leslie McGarry, our fearless BREAST Cancer Warrior is at it again! Braving this horrible disease one day at a time and she needs our help!
Three years ago, we all joined together (so many to name), to raise funds for her when Breast Cancer decided to touch her life for the second time. The money raised enabled Leslie to feel financial relief, concentrate on treatment, time to heal and simply focus on "being Leslie"! At that time, doctors gave her months to live. God decided differently and has given her three plus years. During this time she has continued treatment with such grace and faith, continued living life like no other raising her 3 young children, as a single mom, being "YaYa" to her 3 grandchildren (from her older son Joedy who is a Carson City Fire Fighter and his lovely wife Daniele)! Last fall, Leslie joined Evoke Fitness Breast Cancer 2 Bikini competition and was featured on KTVN Channel 2, a journey that made her shine even more! She praises and preaches her faith to anyone who will listen.
Last Friday her journey took a hard shift and after a few days in the hospital it was determined that a tumor had found its way in her brain and immediate action needed to be taken. This morning she was scheduled for her third brain surgery. As a surprise to her, when she arrived at the hospital by more than 100 family and friends to greet her, hug her, love on her and pray over her.
Leslie has not asked for our help, nor has her son or family that never leaves her side. They only ask for prayers. But all of know that there are needs in times like this. So let’s join together to help her and her family. Any amount will help and go far! The need is real and urgent.
