This past Tuesday one of my best friends from high school, Leshea, was in a near-fatal car accident. She was ejected from a truck that was spinning out on the interstate and suffered broken bones in her spine and pelvis, bruised ribs, and various other smaller injuries. She is looking at a recovery of at least 2 months in which she will be undergoing intensive physical therapy and relearning how to walk. She will be unable to work/ financially support herself during this time.
For those of you who don’t know her, Leshea has completely supported herself since she was a teenager. She recently graduated from UTEP with her BA in Anthropology (an education she funded completely on her own while both working and taking courses full-time). She has always been one of my most amazing and generous friends, not only to me but to everyone in her life. This is the perfect opportunity for the world to reciprocate the generosity that Leshea has unceasingly put into it. Any small amount of money you’re able to contribute is greatly appreciated and much needed. This funding is intended to cover at least some of Leshea’s medical expenses and to supplement her lack of income during the time she is unable to work.
Thank you all so much for your contributions!
