Leo & Greyson "The Jacobson Boys"

Hello Everyone,

I am Emily’s Auntie Karen.  The majority of you know the story of Emily and Andrew but for those who do not, I will give a brief story.

After 5 years of trying to have a baby, Andrew and Emily were blessed to finally be pregnant and OMGosh there were two, what a bonus! That was so fun and exciting to find that out.

Fast forward to April 16th and one little baby boy named Leo wanted out.  Little Leo had a boxing match until he broke the water surrounding him.  Doctors told Emily and Andrew that they were going to try to keep Emily pregnant for up to 2 months on bedrest!  Then on April 18t only 2 days later, Leo said, “I’m escaping” and poor Greyson had no choice but to follow his big brother but not without a fight.  Sweet Greyson hung onto Mommy’s uterus and placenta and tried to hide as far up as he could which caused Mommy to have her uterus cut in half which will cause extra precautions and risks with all future pregnancies.

Emily was only 27 weeks along so imagine the worry but excitement at the same time. Leo arrived first, weighing 2 lbs. 10.3 oz. and Greyson (Grey) weighed 2 lbs. 4 oz.  They both have had their ups and downs while in NICU, a few scares to keep Mommy and Daddy on their toes, but for the most part healthy and gaining weight.

So here we are and the boys are 5 weeks old with Leo (of course) forging ahead at 3 lbs. 14.5 oz. and Grey following closely at 3 lbs. 11.5 oz. but doing his best to catch up.  The Jacobson boys have about 4 weeks left in the hospital, praying everything continues to go well.  Once they are home, Emily will take her maternity leave for 10 weeks with no pay and Andrew will work short spurts until everything and everybody is adjusted.

Andrew and Emily are very humble people and truly avoid asking for help. Thank God they have health insurance but as we all know it doesn’t cover 100%, in fact there is some things it won’t even cover. This Go Fund Me page has been created to help ease Andrew and Emily’s stress load. The hope is Em can take her unpaid 10 weeks off for maternity leave and Andrew and Em will not have added stress walking to the mailbox and being overwhelmed with bills. If you can donate, please do. If you cannot donate that’s alright also, leave a message so they know you are thinking about them.

I will end with words directly from Andrew and Emily.  “It is truly amazing how people are so kind and loving. Our boys are so very lucky.”

Thank you everyone!
