Lena & Tommy Leday

As many of you know, Coach Leday's health has been declining. He recently retired from East Chambers ISD reducing his income to 1/4 of what it was when working. He has been diagnosed with severe dementia, and as his neuropathy worsens, his wife struggles to continue to provide him adequate care. 

Their home will need a bathroom remodel to accommodate his growing need in the downstairs portion of their home. In addition, they will need a full size adjustable base bed or a hospital bed to assist in getting him in and out of bed. 

Because he has not yet turned 62, he is not eligible for assistance and providing in home care from an outside nurse will be extremely expensive. 

I am starting this GoFundMe with the permission of Mrs. Lena and it took quite a bit of convincing. The most urgent need is home accommodations (the bathroom and bed). Any funds not used for these immediate needs will be used for growing medical bills and needs. We are planning a benefit to be held at a later time, but there is a need for immediate assistance.
