Saturday night(2/10/18) Leilani was on her way home from church with one of her aunts when they were hit by a drunk driver. As you can imagine, the accident was devastating!
Leilani had to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance and has suffered severe trauma including a small brain bleed, several facial fractures, and multiple fractures in her right leg and hip. She has been unconscious/sedated since the accident and has also been intubated.
There is still a lot more to figure out regarding her recovery. Her doctors are doing as much as they can to help her come out of this as quickly as possible, but it it going to be a long road of recovery for this precious girl.
During this traumatic time, the last thing her family needs to worry about is money. Our goal is to help her and her parents, Mayuri and Jamal Palmer through this difficult time. The money collected from your contributions will be used to help pay for medical bills/hospital expenses, legal fees, days of work missed, etc.
Leilani, you are so sweet and funny and feisty, and smart. But above all YOU ARE SO VERY LOVED!!!!! It’s not fair that this happened to you, that someone else’s selfishness and stupidity caused this. If we could trade places with you we would do so in a heartbeat!
But, we know GOD is faithful and HIS love and power will overcome the evils in this world. Psalm 71:19-21 says, “Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God? Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. You will increase my honor and comfort me once more.” (NIV)
