Legal Fee for the Return of Service Dog

Nelson Patricio, who has PTSD and living with cancer in Florida, was  transported on July 11, 2019, unconscious, by ambulance to a hospital where he stayed for ten days. His 12-year-old American Eskimo Dog, a service dog, was with him when the ambulance came for him, but the paramedics refused to take her in the ambulance, opting instead to call animal control. Mr. Patricio has been in communication with the Shelter from the hospital.  The Shelter said they will hold the dog 10-11 days. When Mr. Patricio was discharged on July 22, he went straight to the shelter but it was closed. Mr. Patricio went the next day and was informed that Cheryl, his service dog was still in the Shelter but unfortunately was already adopted. He asked for a supervisor which was none available and was told to leave the Shelter.

The dog was placed in a shelter and then rehomed - all without the owner's consent. This dog is microchipped to Mr. Patricio.  Now the new family has refused to return the dog that he raised since it was a puppy. Rumors are that the adopter sold the dog for a profit.

This GoFundMe is to hire and pay the legal fee for Mr. Patricio who is a elderly disabled Veteran who doesn't have the fund to hire an attorney. A Writ of Replevin will be file on behalf of Mr. Patricio for the return of his dog. Knowing how the adopter has acted in the past, she will ignore the Writ of Replevin. The fees will cover the Writ of Replevin, court filing fees, etc.

Please help reunit Mr. Patricio and Cheryl the American Eskimo Dog, who has known no other owner and, naturally, her heart belongs to Nelson. Thank you for you donation on behalf of Mr. Patricio.
