Leg it for Liz

We’re fundraising on behalf of our colleague and friend Liz O’Donnell. Liz has been part of the Holy Cross family since 2004 when she became the Learning Support Manager. We are asking for your donations, not only to support two causes close to Liz’s heart, but also as a sign of our moral support and love at this difficult time for her and her family. Read her story here:
"In October 2018 I completed the Oldham Hilly Half Marathon. Having never considered myself much of a runner, it was a real achievement. Within six weeks, I was diagnosed with biliary duct cancer - a rare and aggressive form of cancer. I have had extensive surgery and several rounds of chemotherapy, and until recently, I have been able to continue running. The Parkrun community has been a great source of support and I am glad for the opportunity to repay them through the 5K Your Way charity. The second charity I would like to support is my local hospice, Dr Kershaw’s in Oldham. I am already being supported by their outreach team and they will continue to support me and my family over the forthcoming months”.
Thank you for any donations you're able to make. Many of the staff at Holy Cross College are running or walking 5K and being sponsored by friends and family. In these challenging times where we are not allowed to gather together, it's these small individual acts of generosity and solidarity that demonstrate how powerful community really is. We might be apart but we can still work together. The money will primarily be used to buy a hospital grade double bed for Dr. Kershaw's Hospice and the remainder will be given to the charity Your Way; Move Against Cancer.
