Leeloo’s heart surgery

This week our four month old puppy was diagnosed with PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus). It’s a rare heart condition that occurs when the ductus arteriosus fails to close down at birth. If we don't get surgery, the vet told us we would have to put her down witin a couple of months. The surgery is estimated to cost $7000 and we won’t be able to go through with it without help. Anything that you are able to donate will bring us one step closer to keeping this amazing part of our family with us.

A bit about Leeloo...

We were so excited to hear that our neighbor's dog was pregnant and that we were going to receive one of the puppies. We decided to name her Leeloo after Milla Jovovich’s character in the Fifth Element. She has brought such joy and purpose to our lives and has completed our family. Leeloo  is a very happy puppy and luckily does not show if she is in pain. She gets tired pretty easy but will continue to play as long as she is played with.  Being born with this condition, she must think getting tired so easily is normal. It is all she knows.

She loves people, being outdoors, playing fetch and sleeping next to us propped up on our pillow!
