Leeds hospital charity, ward L52 “52 For Roux”
Cassio house: Hessle high school: House Captains Robbie and Lucy
Hello, we are Robbie and Lucy and we are aiming to raise £520 for ward L52 at Leeds hospital, a very brave and strong little boy named Roux spent a lot and a lot of time on this ward each day with them continue to care and support for all that was needed, When Roux was born it was sadly discovered that he had 1 brain tumour the size of 2 oranges in his 4 week old skull, Roux and his family spent the first few months to a year of his childhood in hospitals and medical centres giving their all for their strong little man, after the first surgery and after 8 hours of waiting Roux’s parents were told that they had managed to relieve a bit of the pressure off Roux's brain, Roux was closely monitored and after constant treatment and surgeries Roux’s parents were told to prepare for the worst as he was not getting better, they wanted to fight for this and they knew their little boy was a warrior and could get through this, since that day roux has undergone 13 brain surgeries, what an inspiration this boy is to us all, the bravery and determination he had put into his battle is something like no other, his parents who show him love and care every day are also inspiring. Roux is getting better day by day and hopefully will continue to. To raise money for this little man and his carers in hospital who truly saved him I will be doing “52 For Roux” this challenge consists of me walking, cycling and running 52 miles (2 whole marathons) for the chosen charity this challenge will start in November the 1st and end on November the 30th, my goal is to raise awareness and money for the hospital and the care it puts in, Thank you.
