Lebanese Disaster Relief Fund

Donation protected
As you might have heard, on Tuesday August 4 2020 Lebanon was hit by a blast which is being called the second biggest explosion in history since Hiroshima (yes, THAT Hiroshima!). Although you might associate Lebanon with war and tragedy, Lebanese people are known for their boundless hospitality and genuine interest in foreigners who visit their country.

Having been through every possible tragedy imaginable and going through the worst economic crisis since the Civil War, this blast was the last thing they needed. In 24 hours, more than a 100 people have died, over 5000 people are injured and almost a quarter of a milllion people are displaced because their homes have been destroyed.
People can’t be treated at hospitals because they are overflowing. Others are starving because the Lebanese lira has devalued by more than 80% and hyperinflation has caused food prices to skyrocket.

In spite of this mess, the Lebanese Red Cross is doing the best they can with what resources are on hand to help victims. Many other trustworthy local non-profit organizations have set up disaster relief funds that will be used wherever they are needed the most.

If you have anything to spare, please donate and I will make sure every cent will go towards helping the people affected in Lebanon. Any cent can and will make a difference.

Thank you, as a Lebanese and, simply, as a fellow human being whose fellow citizens are suffering tremendously.
