Hello family and friends!
My name is Leanna Mouton and I am a junior first-generation Honors student at Texas State University. I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and a minor in Communication and Honors Studies. I invest my time in working, volunteering, and expanding my horizons through attending cultural events across the State to gain the skills and build the networks that I need to become a global citizen and accomplish my dreams. Because of my academic and leadership achievements, I have been selected as one of few students to study abroad in both Spain and Costa Rica!
The Barcelona, Spain Study Abroad program will be from May 20th – June 20th, 2018. The total program fee is $4,600. Upon completion of this program, I will earn 6 credit hours towards my Business degree. During this study abroad experience, I will be studying international business, exploring historical places, and getting a feel for several cultures in Spain.
The Costa Rica Study Abroad program will be from July 7th – August 11th, 2018. The total program fee is $2,400. Upon completion of this program, I will earn 6 credit hours towards my Business degree and Communication Studies minor. During this study abroad experience, I will be fully immersed in the Costa Rican culture alongside nine other exceptional underrepresented bobcats.
Along with the experience of a lifetime, the opportunity to study internationally has always been a dream of mine and will greatly benefit my degree, future career, and the world changer that I’m becoming. To participate in both programs, earn 12 credit hours, and graduate in the Honors College, my goal is to raise $7,000. These funds will help cover the cost of airfare, tuition, food, room and board, books, supplies, and in country costs. I am asking you to believe in this great opportunity for me to represent all that I believe, my family, and Texas State University. I promise that your investment in my future will have a significant return.
