If you know our mother, LeAnna, you know that she has been knocked down multiple times but doesn’t stay down for very long. Instead of having 9 lives…we think she’s got about 29!! She is just like a Timex that takes a licking but keeps on ticking! She is incredibly resilient and always fights to the end. We have thought that it has been the end of her time here on earth so many times and have shed many tears, but she continues to amaze us girls. We are so proud of her and her fighting attitude!

But now mom is facing a different kind of challenge that she has never faced before. This is a challenge that no matter how resilient she is or how hard she fights, it will not help her to pay the cost of her current placement. And so that is why we are reaching out to all of you to start this GoFundMe page.

Mom was diagnosed and hospitalized for numerous medical conditions including a kidney malformation, a stroke that resulted in left-side weakness, lung cancer that metastasized to her brain and bones, knee fracture, hip fracture and a bowel obstruction. Currently mom is in the Benedictine Nursing Home after she fell in her apartment/condo and broke her femur on December 6th. She had surgery on December 7th and on December 10th she moved to the nursing home. The surgeon informed us that mom’s bones are extremely soft and recovery will take much longer as a result. And on top of that, she is to be non-weight bearing on that affected leg for at least 2 months. Mom has been in swing bed placement and assisted living multiple times for numerous weeks each time after her surgeries. She paid for all her placements out of pocket, but now she has no pocket anymore! That brings us to our plea for your financial assistance for her to stay at the nursing home so she will not lose her apartment that she worked so hard for and loves dearly. Mom is determined to go home to her apartment/condo, and we pray that we can raise enough money so she can do just that!

Another piece of information is that mom will be taken off of her cancer medication because she is in the nursing home and they will not cover the cost of the medication. We are struggling and will be battling the cancer outcome as well. So please, if you can help her out in any way, it would be greatly appreciated and may God Bless you all abundantly!!!
