Accepted to Leadership United Class of 2019!
Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
I am so excited! Out of many applicants, I was selected to participate in the Leadership United Class of 2019! This professional development consists of a comprehensive community leadership and board development program of United Way of Central for nine months. Click here to find out more about Leadership United!
My Story: In 2011, I relocated to Indy to complete a graduate degree in Non-Profit Management and a Certificate in Public Management at Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUI). During my studies at IUPUI, a service learning minded institution, I was very active in a number of service organizations such as AmeriCorps (member at The Julian Center ); board member for the Neal-Marshall Alumni Association-Indianapolis Chapter (advocate for Global and Domestic Poverty issues with RESULTS Indianapolis Chapter); Executive Board member The Exchange (Young Professionals Group with The Indianapolis Urban League); and recipient of two RESULTS scholarships to support advocacy education and efforts in Washington, DC on Capitol Hill. As a result of these and other efforts, I have received the prestigious William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion for Service Learning, the first year medal awarded to a graduate student at IUPUI.
My Passion: Through the years I’ve been committed to increasing access to Indianapolis neighborhoods. I have a deep understanding that our voice is the most powerful tool to implement change for a better quality of life. My passion is serving the community in a variety of ways through my time, talent and treasure.
My Investment: Through enrolling in Leadership United, I have the opportunity to develop new skills to impact our community through leadership and board development training! But, as part of the program requirements, I have to raise the tuition and I need your help!
Thank you so much!
