Lead abatement

Hi, our names are Cole, Emily and Gem. We purchased a beautiful farm house that was built in 1896 in July 2022. Living in our camper for the first month, we refinished the original floor in what became our bedroom (Gem’s bedroom too), and have also slowly chipping away the floors throughout the entire upstairs. In doing so, we’ve created dust that we’ve come to find out contains high amounts of lead.

Lead in any amount is toxic.

Gem, our 10 month old son now has lead poisoning and his blood level tested at 11… Which is very high. With concern, we immediately removed Gem from the environment in hopes of lowering his exposure, until we are able to take care of the problem. We are asking for your help to hire a certified lead safe renovator so we can move back into our home and get back to normal and ensure safety.

Exposure to lead can seriously harm a child's health, including damage to the brain and nervous system, slowed growth and development, learning and behavior problems, and hearing and speech problems.
