Mike Helms Path to Recovery

Dear friends and family as a lot of you know, Michael D. Helms, significant other to Debbie Chambers for over 20 years, suffered a massive stroke Sunday, January 25th. We want to thank all of our many friends and family that have been reaching out with thoughts and prayers. He is medically stable now and will be working on intense rehabilatation so he can begin to regain his strength from paralysis, cognitive skills, and speech. Anyone that knows Mike knows he is a tough guy and will continue to fight hard, as he has already made improvements each day. We hope you all will be grateful for all the small things we take for granted daily, cooking a meal, going for a drive, taking a shower, and talking to friends and loved ones, because in an instant life can be dramatically changed forever. We are so grateful for the medical professionals who have guided Mike and Debbie, but most importantly, our faith and ultimate healer. We have been asked what everyone can do to help, and while Mike continues to be in the hospital, the bills are piling up and the unknown of his ability to care for himself once he is released is weighing heavily on our hearts. Debbie will now be the sole financial provider for her and Mike, but she will need the flexibility with work to provide at home care, as well as, to make arrangements for the house to be wheel chair accessible until further progress is made with his paralysis to his right side. Any donations will be appreciated for Mike's Journey as we all continue to pray for healing. We will keep you all updated on Mike's progress.
