I need more than pink ribbons,

Donation protected

If you are reading this for the first time, thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my cancer journey.  If you have been with me along the way, please read this again.  There are updates you need to be aware of.
I am re-launching my GO FUND ME account becuse of serrious cancer complications...and I don't know how I'll make it otherwise.  Today a stray dog was shown on Facebook who needed medical help.  His GO FUND ME had over $15,000.  I am hoping I am worth more than a dog.

You hear this story so often:  A relative, a friend, a coworker, a teacher, someone at church - has breast cancer.  This news is almost always followed by shock, sorrow, sympathy - and lets face it - a sigh of relief that it isn't you.    Your next reaction, especially if it's someone you know personally, is a disire to help.

On November 17, 2014, at the age of 47, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.   A few days before Thanksgiving I was in surgery.  5 days after Christmas I was in the hospital for a second surgery and a 3 week-long fight with a massive infection.  Any hopes I had of a quick fix were rapidly slipping away.

32 rounds of radiation were ordered.  It was an extreamly difficult treatment.  I lost most of my skin on the right side of my chest and armpit.

As May rolled around I started to feel better...and then June hit me like a ton of bricks.
Complications from the radiation landed me in the hospital and on IV treatmenst for almost a month.

At 47 you expect to be going to your children's choir concerts and PTA shows.  You expect to be thinking about how you're going to squeeze in a workout at the gym, or maybe find someone to babysit while you and your husband  go  out for the night.    You look forward to planing your daughter's Girl Scout campouts and your son's graduation party.
These are my younger Girl Scouts :

Cancer changes that list of what you want and need to do -very quickly.  I face the real danger of losing my house, my car and not being able to provide for my 18, 16, 14 and 8 year old.
This photo was taken at my youngest daughter's First Holly Communion.  Two days later I was in the hospital with a septic infectio - caused by radiation complications.

I'm looking at a pile of doctor and treatment bills that total over $6,000.  I am applying for government assistance, but have been told that as of now (8/15)
it can be up to 60 days before my case is resolved.

I had hoped that I wouldn't need to have a fund raiser, but here I am.   Many of you reading this may not think  that you can help - that a few dollars won't matter.  Every donation helps and will be greatly appreciated.
Much more than having you pin on a pink ribbon, or walk in a Susan G Kolman event or sending me flowers or cards -your donations to my Go Fund Me account will help me make it to the other side of  treatments where I can start working again.
