Layla’s ADHD Assessment

Hi, my name is Lucia. I am Layla’s mum.

I have set up this page as a last resort to help my daughter receive an ADHD assessment.

Unfortunately, we have been waiting a year just to hear about the initial referral we made with her school. This was rejected. Although Layla displays ALL the usual ADHD traits at hone and other places , she masks the most at school.

As with anyone with Children with ADHD or even Autism, children learn to mask to be able to fit in more with their surroundings.

Layla wants to impress and be good especially at school. She loves to impress the teachers and be helpful. One of her biggest fears is letting others down.
Therefore the place where she wants to impress the most is the place where she masks the most.

We think this is why her referral was rejected. That our assessment and school’s assessment didn’t match up. Which is understandable. But with regards to accessing help for Layla, not helpful. As to the referral team, this means she doesn’t meet the criteria. 

We were and still are, absolutely devastated. We are at our wits end with regards to how much we can help Layla. We don’t know how to handle her hyperactivity, outburst, emotional meltdowns, sleeping issues, sensory issues and much more. WE NEED HELP!

Therefore, our only option is to go to a private clinic. Which is why we have started this Go Fund Me page.

The money would go towards her assessment, report, after care and travel.

As most parents, we would do anything for our children. Hence this page.

Please help us to help Layla get the right support and diagnostics that she needs. Even just to be seen would be great.

Every child deserves the best chance in life. If this is one of the ways we can help her, then we shall.

EDIT** I think we have found somewhere cheaper for the assessment! This is great news! Therefore we have lowered the fundraising goal appropriately.**
