Every year the Parent Council raise funds to contribute towards school projects and equipment for the children at Lawhead to enjoy and benefit from. We do this by running various fundraising events - discos, bake sales, children's artwork projects and our most successful - the Christmas Fair. Through these events we have raised on average between £5-6k each year.
Sadly, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are hugely limited in what we can do this year to raise funds. Despite this, we are still trying to reach our target of £6900 for this academic year. Our focus is to improve the outdoor learning environment at the school, in particular by creating an "outdoor classroom" in the existing "bumpy" courtyard at a cost of £1600 and also to assist the school in it's drive to address the shortfall of technology available to the children in the school by funding 12 laptops at a cost of approx £5300. We are trying to be creative with fundraising events we can run within the current restrictions. So far, through events such as dress up days at school, printed artwork and applying for grants we have successfully achieved £3570! This is absolutely amazing!
We asked parents of the school for ideas on how we can raise money. A popular suggestion was a "Go Fund Me" page - so here it is! We hope this will be an easy and convenient way for family and friends to support our amazing school. It has been a difficult year for everyone and there is no obligation or pressure to contribute. Contributions can also be anonymous. It will be open all year and any contributions will be greatly appreciated. The Parent Council will also look to utilise it as a way to collect money for fundraisers. If any of the children would like to have a go at a personal challenge as a way to raise money for the school projects- they can also use the page...every little helps! Thank you!
