Krochet Kids Peru Internship

As many of you know, I am a student at Boise State University. I am pursuing a degree in international business with a minor in non-profit management and Spanish. I have always been passionate about travel and helping others, and this year I am going after my goals.
I applied this fall for an internship with Krochet Kids International (krochetkids.org) a non-profit company that empowers women with the resources to rise above poverty in Uganda and Peru. Krochet Kids gives them jobs crocheting hats and making other products which are sold in the United States.
Their unique model combines jobs, education, and mentorship to creates lasting results to rise above poverty forever. The ripple effect of this organization can be visibly seen in the lives of the women and their families, their communities, and the developing world. I am incredibly passionate about this cause and organization. I have a heart for helping others and this is a perfect opportunity for me to do that. I would be leaving in January 2015 to Lima, Peru to spend 6 months immersed in a new culture: growing, learning, and challenging myself to move towards my dreams.
Because of the nature of the internship (unpaid) I need to raise quite a bit of money for my travel and living expenses. If you feel compelled to help me follow this dream, I would be so incredibly grateful! This has been something I have wanted to do for a long time and I can not be more excited for the opportunity.
