I come to you with a heavy and broken heart. My very close friends Mike and Elaine Jones have suffered yet another family tragedy. Mike you will remember came extremely close to losing his life a year ago when he was shot during a robbery while working as an AT&T service worker in Berwyn, IL.
On Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2018 Mike and Elaine received the phone call that every parent dreads to receive. Their baby girl Lauren had passed away. Without getting into personal details as it is still being investigated, the Jones's and the entire Palos Hills community are devastated.
Lauren was a graduate of Stagg High School (Class of 2013) and a fantastic Softball Player for Stagg, Hickory Hills, Palos Hills and the Red Birds Softball program for years. Her Dad Mike was an extremely dedicated member of the organizations in which she played and has always given back to his community.
The Jones's still have not financially recovered from Mike's shooting incident as he is only receiving a portion of his pay through worker's compensation. This tragedy has added more financial burden on top of the unfortunate task of wanting to properly bury their daughter.
I come to you at this time and ask that you please join me in helping the Jones's financially. They are in dire need of assistance to give their daughter a proper service. At this time they are struggling to come up with enough funds to even book a funeral home and get their baby out of the Cook County Morgue.
Please donate what you can. Even $5 will help us get to the goal of $10000. Believe it or not this is the bare bones minimum of what it will cost to bury Lauren.
