Laura Pickard's Mission Trip

It has been a desire of my heart to travel abroad with a missions team for a number of years- almost 8 years to be exact. As the Lord began to change the course of my life in 2007, a deep desire was birthed within me to be a part of something bigger than myself- something beyond meeting my own needs and fulfilling my own wants. I found myself crying, "God, here am I! Use me!", and He has faithfully answered my request in greater ways that I could have ever imagined.
In 2010, I was offered the incredible honor of being on staff with Karen Wheaton Ministries and the Ramp School of Ministry (RSM) as the Administrative Assistant of RSM. Never have I seen anything more beautiful than witnessing young people gripped by fear and intimidation completely set free by the presence of God and step into the gifts and anointings He has placed on their life. I too experienced this and was enabled to step out in faith in 2013 and start a custom art business called "Made by Desire" where God is currently opening door after door for me to use my creative gifts to minister to people all over the USA.
But still, even in the midst of all these blessings, my heart desires to go even further beyond myself. To reach people in hard to reach places. To love in the midst of not-so-lovable conditions. To carry joy and hope to those in the bleakest of circumstances. And yes, this is the call for all believers whether we are at work or at Walmart or across the world, but it is with great excitement that I get to announce that in May of 2015, I have the opportunity to do the "across the world" part!
I have the incredible opportunity to join a team of missionaries from RSM that will be spending two weeks in a nation that must remain nameless publicly. This is a predominantly closed nation to the gospel, but we will have access to many open doors to minister! The two weeks will consist of village evangelism, ministry to kids in child development centers (including those with special needs), youth meetings, and other opportunities such as worship training, mercy outreaches to the poor, and Festivals (outdoor meetings with live worship, preaching, drama, etc.). We will also have the opportunity to encourage through teaching and prayer other brothers and sisters in Christ as they work to reach their people for the Kingdom of God. It will be an intense but extremely rewarding experience- and I'm overjoyed to be a part of it!
I cannot fully express the gratitude I have in my heart that you've taken the time to read this. If you would consider praying for me and my team as we prepare for this trip, it would be sincerely appreciated- we cannot do this without heaven's involvement, and heaven's involvement comes through prayer! Also, if you feel led to support this trip financially, my heart would rejoice! The cost of the trip is around $3000 and I estimate $500 for additional expenses such as passport and personal items needed in preparation for the trip.
