Laura Van de Reep- WE WALK TO THE SAME BEAT!

Our lifelong friend Laura has just received a new heart! She is a daughter, a mother, a sister, an aunt and an amazing friend. Laura lives her life fiercely and with extreme positivity and love.

Years ago, the heart she was born with failed her and she required a pacemaker. Laura never let that slow her down, living life to its fullest and raising her boys to always look for the positive. In July 2023 she found out that her heart had an expiry date, and a transplant would be needed. In true Laura style she took this news in stride and looked at it as just another bump in the road.

The new heart brings her a better quality of life. The recovery process is a lengthy one that requires some major but hopefully temporary changes. Laura will remain in hospital for a few weeks then must stay in Halifax to be near the hospital for several months. The next year will entail regular trips to Halifax to follow up with her cardiologist and health specialists.

During recovery Laura will be off work for an extended period of time only able to return once her health allows her to do so. We want her and her family to be able to focus on healing, not worry about finances during this time.

Laura would NEVER ask for help, but she is always the first to help others. As her friends we hope you can help her and her family.
