Mayan Pantry is a collection of Mexican inspired dips and salsas, which bring the flavour and tradition of the Yucatan to your home. We are a food start-up, and our team is made up of two people; husband and wife Miguel and Jessica. Mayan Pantry uses unique and nutrient-dense ingredients to make salsas and dips that have your family’s health in mind, never trading health for deliciousness.
Our products include:
- Sikil P’ak (Pumpkin Seed Dip) and Salsa Roja (Red Sauce)
The Sikil P’ak (pronounced Seek-Eel-Pack) is a traditional Mayan dip that is comparable in texture and consistency to hummus. The star ingredient is pumpkin seed which, nutritionally, packs a big punch.
The Salsa Roja (Sal-sah Ro-Ha) is a smooth red sauce with a unique smoky flavour that can be used on your tacos, for dipping, on your eggs, vegetables, and also as a marinade for chicken and fish.
We will also be adding a third seasonal dip.
In order to jumpstart our business we are launching this crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds we need for the basics (trademarking, marketing, demos, packaging, label printing, the first batch of ingredients, the rental of a commercial kitchen, shelf-life testing etc).
We hope that this initial campaign will not only serve to help us raise the funds required to kickstart our entrepreneurial venture but also to spread the word about our brand in Toronto, and in Canada.
