Simchat Halev ( Happy Heart ) is a magical non-profit organization that creates laughter, humor and happiness in environments where, most often, nothing seems funny — like hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes.
Our medical clowns channel the healing power of humor, bringing laughter to those in need, easing their fear, relaxing them and transforming their hospital/facility experience. They remind patients that they are more than just their illness and give them a sense of control.

Founded in 2002 with the goal of helping children from the whole spectrum of Israeli society, today Simchat Halev has over 250 active volunteer medical clowns working in over 200 different hospitals, specialty clinics, senior citizen homes, rehabilitation facilities and special needs schools throughout Israel.
Unlike other medical clown organizations in Israel, Simchat Halev clowns are volunteers. Our clowns receive no payment for their time; the only funds they receive are $50/month to cover the costs of supplies (i.e. balloons, toys, costumes, makeup, etc) as well as fuel and parking.
Until now, all of Simchat Halev's activities have been made possible by private donations from Israeli-based benefactors, without any goverment or overseas funding or assistance. However, we have an amazing idea and we need your help.
We want to buy an out-of-service ambulance and refurbish it into a Medical Clown Mobile.
The Clown Mobile will be refitted to fit up to 10 clowns, and will be stocked with clown supplies, a sound system for playing music, a commerical bubble machine and lots and lots of goodies to bring joy and happiness to those who need it most.
The Clown Mobile will be used for a number of different purposes, including:
1 - visiting neighborhoods recently affected by terror attacks
2 - during wartime, visiting schools and other sheltered facilities
3 - attending medical-related events (i.e. Fun Days for Kids with Cancer, Families Affected by War or Terror), etc.
4 - attending events at special needs schools and senior citizen homes
5 - participating in parades and local festivals
Our goal is to provide assistance, loving support and encouragement for children and adults under emotional stress and physical hardship. Will you please help us reach our goal?
