$500,000 will enable the Latino Restaurant Association Emergency Fund to help continue our critical COVID19 emergency programs.
1. Meals to Frontline WorkersHelp the amazing healthcare workers while helping Latino restaurants stay afloat.
Front line healthcare workers are some of the most vulnerable during the current Coronavirus crisis and restaurant owners are some of the most severely impacted during this time. To provide critical support for both the healthcare and restaurant industry, the Latino Restaurant Association (LRA), a non-profit is coordinating meals for healthcare workers; specifically, ICU and ER staff workers. Staff workers include: housekeepers, techs, administrative, nurses and doctors. The program will feed healthcare workers, assist restaurants who have been impacted and utilizes delivery drivers to deliver the meals. This program encompasses many immediate needs and helps put needed funds in the hands of the most essential workers to include 24 additional hospitals in the Southern California region. Meals are provided by delivery to each hospital according to hospital regulations and adhering to the highest safety standards (some are drop off and some will be delivered by food trucks)
2. COVID19 Grant for Affected Restaurant Workers
The Latino Restaurant Association is currently evaluating grocery grant requests from California restaurant workers who have been impacted by the coronavirus in the following ways (in order of priority to serve the most vulnerable first): We are working diligently to secure more funding to expand our each. We know these are tough times and appreciate your understanding so that we may help the most vulnerable in the community. Latino Restaurant Association grants are awarded to eligible individuals based on available funds and are limited to one per individual or household.
