Latina saving to renew work permit & social

Every 2 years for the last 16 or so years I have had to pay a fee of $500 in order to to be able to reapply for a work permit and my social security number. This is under something called the dream act (DACA), allowing children who came to the US at a very young age to have the opportunity to be here legally. My family has always saved money to prepare for this application fee, but they are currently struggling as you can imagine most people are.  It is very scary to imagine having to leave this country for not being able to pay an APPLICATION fee, not even to receive the permit or social, but merely to apply, which can then have the possibility of being rejected. I’m no longer ashamed to ask for help regarding my ethnicity and citizenship status.
