Manuela & Ariana, "las Mellas", nacieron el 19 de septiembre, a solo 28 semanas de gestación. Pesaron 1.140 Kg y 1.020 Kg, respectivamente, y son un poco más grandes que la palma de una mano. Desde el momento de su concepcion, las Mellas han sido un milagro. A pesar de haber nacido prematuras, estan evolucionado satisfactoriamente fuera del vientre de Inesita, su mami, la guerrera mayor.
Los Mellas requieren de cuidados especiales hasta completar su desarrollo, los cuales incluyen el monitoreo continuo por personal médico y enfermeras, exámenes, incubadora y, lo más importante, el amor y y la buena vibra de todos. Este cuidado solo puede ser provisto en el Hospital donde nacieron, y se estima que sera de por lo menos 7 semanas.
Los gastos diarios durante su estadía en cuidados intensivos son de aproximadamente $5.000 USD. Las Mellas necesitaran este tipo de atencion por los menos 7 días, si siguen evolucionando como hasta ahora y no surge ningún imprevisto. Una vez en cuidados intermedios —donde pasarán el resto de sus días en la Hospital—, los gastos se reduciran aproximadamente un 20-25%, si ningún examen especial es necesario y no surgen complicaciones posteriores. Despues de que sean dadas de alta, pasadas 7 semanas de su nacimiento, si todo va bien, aún necesitarán de una enfermera y una incubadora por el primer mes de vida fuera del hospital. Estos gastos suman aproximadamente $60.000, despues de descontar los aportes del seguro.
Los amigos de Inés y Roberto hemos tenido la iniciativa de iniciar esta campaña. Los fondos recaudados a través de la misma serán transferidos a ellos para que sean destinados exclusivamente a cubrir los gastos clínicos para proveerle a las Mellas los cuidados que necesitan por las próximas semanas, bajo un escenario optimista-preventivo.

Manuela & Ariana, "las Mellas", were born on September 19, only after 28 weeks of gestation. They weighed 1.140 Kg and 1.020 Kg, respectively, and they are just a bit bigger than a hand. From the moment of their conception, las Mellas have been a miracle. Despite being premature, they are thriving outside their mommy's womb, Inesita, the big warrior!
Las Mellas need special care to complete their development, which include the constant supervision of doctors and nurses, lab tests, remaining in an incubator, and most importantly, all the love and good energy from everyone. This special care can only be provided at the Hospital where they were born, and they are expected to stay there for at least 7 weeks.
The daily expenses in the ICU is of approximately $5.000 USD. Las Mellas would need this kind of care for at least 7 days, if everything goes as it has so far. Once they are in intermediate care —where they will be for the remaining time of their stay at the Hospital— the expenses should get reduced about 20-25%, if nothing extraordinary happens. After they are released from the Hospital, hopefully 7 weeks after their birth, they still will need a nurse and incubators at home for the first month out of the Hospital. All these expenses add up to about $60.000 USD, after discounting the Insurance coverage.
Friends of Ines & Roberto decided to launch this campaping. Ines & Roberto are the only benefitiaries of the funds collected. Every single penny collected in this campaign will be used to cover the medical expenses for las Mellas, so they can have the right care for the next weeks, hoping everything will be alright.
