I had breast cancer in 2010.
Then thyroid cancer started in August 2012. After surgery and 39 radiation treatments I started healing and got back to a semi-normal lifestyle.
When the Hurthle Cell Thyroid Cancer returned the first of this year, 2018, and I was told I had only one option and that was to have a Radical Laryngectomy, which meant having my entire throat removed,
the skin, blood vessels and veins from my left forearm would be removed to replace my throat and neck, I was devastated. After my arm was used to harvest the materials to replace my throat, skin was taken from my left thigh to repair my left forearm.
I am unable to speak.
I have an open stoma, which requires a trach tube and all the supplies to clean the tube 3 to 4 times a day.
I also have a G-Tube in my stomach for feeding myself 2 to 3 times a day since swallowing is a real challenge for me.
The many appointments for all the specialist is very difficult since I have to depend on someone else since my car is not running and I do not have the money to have it repaired.
Medicare only pays for part of the supplies I need to keep sterile, clean tubes for my stoma.
I am going to be 80 years old in November. I cannot go out and get a part time job, since I do not have the strength and energy to keep on the go and must use a rollator.
I have worked all my life and never thought I would need to ask for help but now I do need help.
If you are able to consider seeing your way to help me I would really appreciate it so much. God Bless each of you for even considering my needs.
