Larry Martin’s Thyroid Cancer

Donation protected
On December 26th ( day after Christmas) we received news we were dreading . For the last 6-8 months Larry has not been himself. He always had endless energy and was always praised for his hard work and ability to work harder and faster than anyone I’ve ever known. He started feeling extremely overwhelming exhausted all the time. He finally got health insurance and in November went for his first checkup in over 4 years. His Dr felt very large masses on his thyroid. After an ultrasound, seeing an ENT and an endocrinologist and having a biopsy results came back that he has thyroid cancer. He’s only 37 and he is an amazing fiancé and step father. He is our rock and since I am too sick to work he does everything he can to support us. Now that he has been diagnosed with cancer we are panicked , not only about the cancer, but about the lost wages and high deductibles. When he works a full week with no overtime we can barely scrape by, but now with all the days he’s missed already (already out of PTO time) and the days he will need to take off for surgery, recovery, follow up and pre surgical visits , there’s no way we can make it work. He has a $5,000 deductible that we haven’t been able to pay anything towards yet and as of Monday, his deductible restarts, so we will need $10,000 just for the deductibles. His car payment and insurance is $600 a month. His rent is $800 a month. Our phones are almost $300 a month. Our cats cost $55 a week just to be fed. Then there’s gas for our cars, food, and everything else. On a good week he only brings home $600-$700. With unpaid days off, we have no idea how we are going to make it through this. I hate that we have to do a go fund me, but without it we have no way to get his cancer treated and not lose his car or have to file for bankruptcy. I know it’s the holidays and everyone is strapped for money but even if you can donate $5 it adds up. Anyone who knows Larry or myself knows that we try to help anyone we can and both are good people who have been handed some really shitty cards in life. With my illnesses, this is almost too much to handle and all we can do is go one day at a time. Please if anyone can donate anything so we can come through this without becoming bankrupt or losing our car or home, every penny counts. Thanks and please keep Larry in your prayers.
