Lawrence Patrick Ledgard, age 60
It is with great sadness that the family of Larry Ledgard announces his passing, on Tuesday August 14, 2018. He suffered a heart attack on the way home from his final adventure at Indian River Inlet, Delaware, where he first began surfing many years ago.
Larry was born on August 13th 1958 to Rilla and Albert Ledgard at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He was the eldest of four siblings and leaves behind his mother, brother and sisters.
He graduated from Chaminade University of Honolulu in Hawaii in 1982, where he met his wife Laura. Larry is survived by his wife and best friend of 35 years, Laura, and their three children, Merideth, Patrick and Annabelle.
Larry had a passion for life and he adventured through it in many ways. He had a passion for teaching and learning. He loved his dogs, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, and ducks. He had a keen interest in computers, surfing, skiing and farming. He was always the life of the party.
In lieu of flowers Laura would like donations made in honor of Larry to their children’s college education. An Irish wake/celebration of life will be held at the farm on Sept. 22, 2018. All friends, colleagues and family of Larry please attend.
He will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him.
