I have an ambitious goal of getting every student of mine, who needs access to technology, access to that technology so they can have access to higher education. I would love to get my students the technology they need during the first week of classes in the Summer and Fall, so that no student has to start start without the resources that they need to succeed! Many graduating high school seniors must return their laptop loaners and then they face a decision to start college without a computer when all of their classes will be online (currently City College is planning all or nearly all instruction online for the Summer and Fall).
My students are very hard working and many do not have access to a working computer or wifi at home, and with campuses and libraries closed, they face yet another barrier to education. Many of my students face many struggles and obstacles to just to get into college, and this fundraiser is designed to give them access to resources that will help them not just succeed in challenging college level Math classes, but also help them realize their true potential, to help them become college graduates and empower others in their community to graduate from college too.
Thank you for your donation, no matter how small, you are contributing towards amazing students like James standing next to me who earned As in ALL of his classes this Spring (including Honors Statistics), and is now a college graduate. James has been accepted to San Diego State University! Students like Julio from Skyline, who earned a perfect 100 percent on EVERY single Algebra assignment, quiz, and exam, he earned As in all of his classes too, and he started tutoring my students (at levels above his class including trig and precalculus) in office hours. Students like Romona, single mother of three, who was using her daughter Tanya's laptop in my class, that same class I went to my office and sent her home with her own laptop. I also helped Tanya pass statistics even though she wasn't in my class, Tanya will be starting at UC Davis in the Fall. Your donation will be helping truly amazing City College students become college graduates, help them get one step closer to their goals and dreams!
Last time that I checked, Community College is supposed to be for EVERYONE in the community, not just students with access to computers and internet!
