LaPlace - Mission Trip

For as long as I can remember, God placed a dream in my heart to  take a trip to Africa and love on orphans there. I don't know why God planted this desire in me, but less than a week ago, I was invited to join such a trip. I was so excited but I wanted to take some time to pray and confirm this was the trip God had planted in my heart. I was struggling with fear over the financial cost and felt so confused by my struggle because I KNOW God provides when he calls. I discovered as I was praying that my struggle was because it's something I WANT. I've WANTED to go on this exact trip forever. I've never had a problem having faith or trusting God for a need but was feeling guilty that I'd be asking God to provide for a want. A mentor at work reminded me that it was a God given want and that the want is serving Him! He provides for desires that He gives. Final confirmation came when I discovered that the team leaders had been specifically praying that a worship leader would join the team. He seems to be answering prayers before things have even begun! The opportunity for my oldest son, Dylan (who will be 12 by trip date), to come along was also available and as soon as I was made aware of the open door, I knew I wasn't to go without him. We're stepping out in faith while making some of our own sacrifices along the way. 

I realize that we are in the middle of Christmas, and there are many places to give this season. I believe that what my friends are doing through One Orphan is Kingdom work. For it is in these moments that orphans are seen, cared for, loved, and even adopted. Your donation isn't just supporting us, but I truly believe that it is Kingdom building. 

There is no amount that is too small...would you consider being a part of what God will do in this place, with us, among these people?

The two of us will travel to Ethiopia over spring break, March 30-April 7, visiting four orphanages as well as ministering to families who are in desperate need of basic necessities. Every penny received will go directly to the cost of our trip.

Cost:
$4,000 deposit- due by January 30.
The remaining $2,600 will be due at the end of February.
