Lani, the perpetual giver, needs our help!

Donation protected
Hey y'all - it's Trish. Katie Odom and I are coordinating this fundraiser to help Lani. She merely asked for prayers, but prayers don't pay surgeons, so here we are.

Please consider donating - she's got a great husband and two awesome little ladies at home. If you know Lani, you know she's always finding ways to give to others, encourage and motivate every single person she comes in contact with. Now, it's Lani who needs some help.

Whatever you feel moved to donate is perfect - yes, even $10.

Happy Thanksgiving - now let's get this woman the surgery she so desperately needs!!

Here's her story:

"OK guys, I never meant this to get as long as it did, but here goes. I am not one to talk about my personal life openly with everyone, but I really need prayers and kind thoughts and whatever else you got. What most of you don’t know is I have been living with a tumor inside my abdomen for over 4 years. It went from the size of a lemon until now, the size of a softball and was deemed inoperable three years ago. The tumor started as just a normal ovarian cyst and thanks to my endometriosis the right ovary and cyst decided to take a vacation and hang out somewhere in my bowels. We discovered along the way that it produces a ton of estrogen, that has contributed to almost 80 pounds of weight gain in the past four years. The last surgeon who tried to operate could not get any instrumentation between my organs and said my entire abdominal cavity moves as though it is encased in concrete. As you can imagine this is not a pain-free condition, and is at times excruciatingly painful. I sought out a specialist, he is an exceptional surgeon and considered one of the best in the world at treating my condition. However he is an out of network practitioner and my insurance won’t cover any of his fees. So, though he believed he could help me, he believed he could restore my quality of life, I can’t begin to afford his surgical fees. But I had plenty of good days which is why I was less worried About my outcomes so I soldiered on and started trying to figure out a path for myself. But, my good days have grown fewer in number and I am growing more tired and am less easily bouncing back.

The last surgeon who actually has seen inside of me said I was the worst she had ever seen and she closed me right back up. I need someone who will think I’m a walk in the park or just an average Tuesday but will also handle my case with care because we are literally talking about someone handling every organ in my abdomen. I need an incredibly skilled surgeon.

So, with this week of Thanksgiving I have decided to share all of this in hopes that I get to have the most exciting news to share. Something to be abundantly thankful for the rest of my life. If you would please remember me in your thoughts and prayers this week and pray that I can find the perfect surgeon to help me be healed and that the path be cleared of obstacles so I may once again be well."
