Hey family and friends. As you know Luke is doing it very, very tough right now (see Jo’s recent FB post):
“Tests over the last week have confirmed that Luke needs a new heart. Whilst we’re shattered about what that means, given the road we’ve been on, we’re not overly surprised. There are still many unanswered questions but an eventual transplant is his only option. Luke is having a defib/pacemaker implanted this afternoon, which we hope will be a satisfactory interim solution, until a compatible donor heart becomes available. Time, priority and a bit of luck is what we need now. Luke is dealing with this outcome with the courage, grace and poise that only he can have and I am right here by his side every step of the way. We say bring it on!!!

We have created this page as we know that so many of you want to help them in some way. Luke and Jo have recently completed their house renovation and the next stage was to finish the landscaping. This has been a plan in motion and one that Lukey was focused on starting sooner than later. Obviously, this is now on hold and not on their priority list, however something that very much needs doing as most of the yard is currently dust, dirt and rocks (typical post reno construction site).
We know that finishing off the yard will be one less 'stressful' thing that they have to think about and a space that they can enjoy as a family when Luke comes home from hospital. Since Jo's post above, we now know for sure, that they have a very long road ahead... and Luke will be in hospital for a number of weeks yet, so we have time to get this project kick started at least....
Although this may seem a little 'risky' (meaning, Jo may very well kill me when she finds out that I have done this), we do honestly believe that this is a simple, yet very significant way to offer them support for something that will last for years to come and will be forever remembered. Luke and Jo, Lucy and Mannix, will wake up each day, walk outside and be forever reminded of the wonderful people in their lives.
