Don protégé
Landry.. sweet vivacious wonderful Landry.
Landry was born with a very severe and complex congenital heart defect and chronic lung disease. She basically has half of a heart. She has had four open heart surgeries, gone into cardiac arrest, and pulled through after an hour of CPR and a five day run on ECMO. She survived at times when the doctors and medical professionals didn’t think she would.
Recently, Landry’s O2 levels have been consistently declining. Her parents drove her to Houston this week to get a cardiac cath and a bronch of her airway and lungs to see if they could improve her blood flow and oxygen distribution. The doctors found some collaterals to coil, which will help but uncovered additional problems with her lungs. There is fluid build-up in her lower left lobe which may require a procedure to remove it.
Longer term, Landry will require a heart or a heart-lung transplant. In the short term, Landry will need oxygen 24/7 to keep her oxygen level above 88%.
Many of you have been coached or had kids coached by Stephanie Lewellen. You all know she gives her everything to her players. Now is an opportunity to give back to this amazing family! To show support, and allow Landry to be as close to a normal kid as possible, to be able to go do things most of us take for granted. Donate to help purchase this lifesaving equipment and towards medical costs.
