'LAND FOR LEK'

Please watch:

This is the new release trailer for "Love & Bananas"

https://www.facebook.com/LoveAndBananas/videos/1613628318729481/

I had the great honour of meeting Lek on a recent visit to her Elephant Nature Park (ENP) Chiang Mai, Thailand; to say I was inspired by this incredible woman is an understatement.  The videos tell her story and after hearing her speak in person, the one thing that stayed with me (apart from the wonderful work she is doing for these Elephants in  need) was how I/we could help.

Lek needs Land.

Land for her beloved charges.  Lek, her husband Darrick and the team at ENP currently care for over 80 elephants (as well as many other animals including dogs, cats, water buffalo etc.) and unfortunately there are going to be many more to rescue and rehabilitate in the future due to either human ignorance and/or cruelty.

They need more land to house and care for them properly.

This is where we come in.

From early 2019 to March 2019 I will be teaming up with a group of fellow Australian Ellie advocates to bring the movie "Love and Bananas" along with Lek Chailert and some of her Elephant Nature Park team to our Australian shores.  There will be 11 screenings across Australia and full details including how to purchase tickets ($15-$25) can be found on the following FB link:  https://www.facebook.com/Love-and-Bananas-Australian-Tour-1213287325518871/

We would dearly love to see you there and guarantee that you will LOVE this movie.  It will leave you thinking deeply about what else we can do to improve the lives of Asian Elephants and why we need to boycott all forms of Elephant Entertainment within the tourist industry in Thailand.  It has a happy ending!

To date, over  $5,550 has been raised through Land for Lek and I had the great honour of presenting these donations to Lek in person. The Love and Bananas Australian Tour team would like to continue to raise awareness and make another donation to Lek, for land and what better way for Australians to demonstrate how appreciative and supportive we are of everything that is being done to help make the lives of these beautiful creatures more bearable and enjoyable.

Nothing gives us greater relief or more joy than knowing these elephants are gifted with freedom to live out their days with dignity, surrounded by love and compassion.

Our hope and goal is to achieve a new fundraising goal of $10,000 and to continue raising much needed funds for the Elephant Nature park in the coming years through a 'Land for Lek' fundraising mission.

Your donations will make a huge difference regardless of the amount and we will be sure to update you on progress at ENP.

Finally, education is the key.  Please make responsible and ethical choices when travelling, especially where animals are concerned and boycott all activities that do not reflect eco friendly or ethical behaviours.  Elephant riding, trekking, painting, selfies etc. are not cool!  Please share this knowledge with those around you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, for watching the video and for making a donation to 'Land for Lek'.  For more information about the Elephant Nature Park please click on the link below:
