This is my beautiful mother, Lana. She is the kindest, most generous and caring person I know. She’s strong and has an incredible outlook on life. She’s also very, very sick and she’s never asked anyone for help but could use your help today.
My mom has been facing chronic illness since she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at the age of 17. During that treatment, she was administered high doses of radiation. As a result she has battled breast cancer, CLL leukemia, osteoporosis, multiple organ failures/removals, pulmonary disease and advanced coronary stenosis.
Currently she is in treatment for her very serious heart condition with Mayo Clinic. She remains steadfast in her resolve but this challenging process is regrettably well beyond her means. All told there will be at least three, week long commutes to Rochester, Minnesota for tests and procedures that include exorbitant medical bills (some not covered by Medicare or tenable within her fixed budget) along with travel and lodging expenses. My brother and I are helping her as best we can, and some others have contributed to her cause, but additional financial assistance would go a long way in making a very stressful situation much more bearable for this brilliant human.
