LaLa's Boo Boo Bags
Donating gift bags with toys to hurt/sick kids in Emergency Rooms
Recently my 3 year old brother spent 10 hours in the emergency room and needed to get stitches. It could have been a traumatic experience for him, but the nurse brought him a bag of toys to play with while he was there. She mentioned that someone had donated these bags and she was sad because they were almost out. I realized that I could make lots of other children's time in the hospital a little easier by making more bags and donating them not only to our local hospital, but to other emergency rooms as well.
I am working on this project because I care about children and I also want to try to cheer them up when they get hurt.
I didn't just put toys and fun things in bags I also put in love. ;)
I am doing this as part of my Mitzvah Project for my Bat Mitzvah, but intend to continue after that.
Each bag (for either kids over 2 or under 2) will cost about $5-$6 to make. I would like to raise at least $1000 so that I can make 200 bags and give them out beyond just my local hospital.
Here are examples of some of the things that could go in a bag:
