Lakeview Lions Run LA

Determination. Perseverance. GRIT. These qualities are essential when facing obstacles.

At Lakeview Charter High School, a group of students are training to face a larger than life obstacle- The Los Angeles Marathon. This entails 26.2 miles of running through one of the greatest cities in the world. These dedicated students have heard the call- and are answering one step at a time, one mile at a time with practice, sweat and persistence.

Since 2012, The Marathon Club at Lakview Charter has prepared over 30 students prepare to run and each student has completed the challenge. No student has been left behind.

Lakeview serves the Northeast San Fernando Valley communities of Sylmar, San Fernando and Pacoima. This is home to at-risk youth, and for many running has been a positive outlet in their lives.

These amazing students are in need of financial support in order to run the marathon. The funds raised will be used to help finance the marathon registration fees for each student, which can become a financial barrier. Any additional funds raised will be used to support the purchase of adequate running shoes for students in need.
The LA Marathon registration fees increase every month, we are hoping to reach our fundraising goal and get all participants registered by Jan 15th.

Help us ensure each student crosses that finish line.
