Lake Fire took my niece Nicole Hall's home

My niece Nicole lived on Pine Canyon Road for nearly 7 years. She rescued animals, gardened and loved living among the tall pines adjacent to the Angeles Crest forest. However, everything changed the minute she smelled smoke. Before she could even assess the danger...ash was raining down on her head and she realized it was time to pack up the car. The fire was moving so fast and had topped the ridge above her home and taken hundreds of acres within a few minutes. Fire trucks were driving down her street telling everyone to 'Get Out.'
Although she had fire threats before, there was always a 'wait and see' time. This Lake Fire was different. It was extremely fast moving and there was no wait and see.
She packed her dogs and cats in her small suv, grabbed a few boxes of paperwork and headed down the road to safety. She prayed that it was not the last time she would see her home in the rear view mirror, but it didn't look promising.
By early morning she received news from a local friend that her home didn't make it. It had burned to the ground. The only remnant left of her home was the stone fireplace chimney and the charred skeletons of generators and gardening equipment from her work shed. Her 5th wheel trailer, reduced to a metal frame.
In order to help her care for her animals, and to purchase clothes and personal items I have created this Go Fund Me.
We certainly understand that 2020 has been difficult for most of us. We do appreciate even the slightest help for Nicole to get back on her feet.
Thank You
