I am overwhelmed by the love, support, and prayers that have sent to my son. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I thought I would give an update on Laiton. We moved him to Salt Lake City, UT to be closer to home and to his transplant team. He is not on "the list" yet but he is doing everything the doctors require to qualify. He has dialysis 3-4 days a weeks at the dialysis center at University Hospital and it makes him feel pretty puny. He has a lifting restiction of 20 lbs so he has struggled to find a job that will work around his dialysis schedule and doesn't require lifting.
My daughter, Laiton's sister, Addy is in the process of testing to see if she is a suitable donor. I am humbled by her selflessness as she is only 23 and giving an organ is a big decision. I am uneasy with the thought of both of my children having major surgery but we are a strong family and I pray that they will be in skilled hands should she be a good match.
There are still many hoops to jump through but we know that everything happens for a reason. Hug your families and let them know how much you love them. ❤️
We sure love you all and are so blessed by your continued support and prayers. Thank you!

Many of you know my son, Laiton, and know that he bravely fought and beat cancer when he was young. It was not without taking a toll however and he lost both of his kidneys to the cancer. He was blessed enough to receive a transplant and it has worked wonderfully for the last 18 years. Suddenly and unexpectedly in July, his kidney stopped functioning and has reached the end of its lifespan. Laiton was hospitalized and is now dialysis dependent again. He is not currently a candidate for transplant.

If you've ever met Laiton you'd know that he is gentle and kind, generous and hardworking. He doesn't believe in a handout but is first in line to give a hand up. He's grown into a remarkable young man that I am so proud of.

Now that he's 22, he struck out from his home here in Riverton, WY to Phoenix to build his career as a welder. He had found a good job and was setting a good foundation for success. His kidney failure has sidelined the life he had just started building.

Laiton has no family in Phoenix and it's very difficult for me to know he is so sick and so far from home. He has been unable to work since his hospitalization in July and infection, coupled with daily dialysis treatments, have kept him feeling very sick. Currently he is hospitalized with peritonitis and sepsis and requires another surgery to replace his dialysis catheter.

I'd like to humbly ask if we can rally around my wonderful young man to help him out financially while he's unable to work. As his mother, I am doing all I can to help but things are adding up quickly. A little bit from a lot of folks can really go a long way in helping with rent, keeping groceries in the fridge, and keeping up with mounting medical expenses. I understand that times are tough for most of us so even sharing his link would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much in advance. We sure love you!
