We need your help!!!

The pandemic has struck businesses and organizations in a variety of ways. For the Los Angeles Community Garden Council, it has meant a steep drop in fundraising opportunities, and the loss of our longtime Executive Director. We continue to struggle to meet our financial obligations and keep up the essential work that strengthens, beautifies, and nourishes dozens of communities around LA County. And we are asking today for your help to keep us going.

Community gardens have played an important role in LA’s resilience during COVID. Our gardeners rallied together, organizing food drives that benefitted local communities and regional food banks as demand for affordable food skyrocketed due widespread unemployment. LACGC maintained its steadfast commitment to support to our member gardens and we have been honored to provide this small measure of help to our communities during this time.

Now, we really need the community to rally for us. LACGC supports 44 community gardens around Los Angeles County, reaching thousands of Angelenos in our most underserved communities. Our services include community organizing and training, access to tools and other supplies, administrative support like management and accounting services, and just making sure the water stays on. We help to feed Angelenos from all backgrounds and provide easy and affordable access to green space, exercise, and community -- work we have been doing for almost 30 years.

We need your help to ensure that we can continue to do this work, to help our gardeners literally put food on their tables and continue to feed and care for their communities.
